Rekindle my love for 360/PS3

    Right folks.....my 360 Live sub is coming to an end and I am faced with a dilemma.  For the past 8-9 months I have been favouring the PC as my gming vessel.  But, I can't help but feel a little sadness for not sitting down on my futon couch in my games room (with AV receiver and surround!) and tucking into a decent game.;

    WHat is out there for me though?  FPS will always by a PC affair for me now, as will titles like Skyrim and Mass Effect.  What consoley gaming experiences might I have missed out on?  

    The last game I bought and completed was Gears 3 so that one is out.  I have never enjoyed the Assassin's Creed games and if a game is available for PC I wouldn't buy it on console (usually because PC is cheaper).

    Anyone up to the challenge of rekindling my lost love?  BTW...the only game I can think of is Uncharted 3.  Skullgirls looks a bit promising too.

    Haha, I got shot down on the old forum for suggesting such heresy. That's pretty much how I roll too though, PC first and only get exclusives for console, like uncharted etc.

    The only games I tend to prefer on console are sports games, mainly due to the controller (though I can use PS3 controller on my PC), they just feel more fluid and responsive on consoles.

    The two games I would suggest you have already mentioned, assassins creed and uncharted, so I dunno..

    Hook the PC up to the TV. Sell consoles. Live the future.

    I rarely play on my consoles nowadays. In fact, I only turned the Xbox on yesterday for the first time in about a year! New dashboard!

    I wouldn't sell them, though. There's always the odd exclusive that you need them for. For starters, there simply isn't a PC version of Rock Band, so I'm tied to my PS3 indefinitely.

    But I do get most of multi-platform stuff on the PC lately. More convenient, often cheaper, and with performance benefits. Plus, it's way more future-proof / moddable, etc. I didn't realise, for instance, how many games on PC support 3D viewing. It's not something I want right now but it's good to know down the line.

    I'm not doing a good job of rekindling, sorry. Erm, Journey is coming for PS3 pretty soon. Looks excellent. And The Last Guardian might come out some time in the next decade. W00t!

    I wanted to say something to rekindle too, as I'm pretty evenly split between console and pc now, but can't think of anything. Pc is great with steam deals and modding and the great games all came out last year for consoles, so there's a bit of a lull at the moment

    I like consoles that don't need to be upgraded or require new drivers/patches to make them compatible & then fiddling around with your graphics card settings. Plus I feel like I'm having more fun playing it on a console & being able to play something like Dead Space 2 on the big tv & 5.1 surround really enhances the experience as opposed to a monitor

    If it weren't for exclusive games or stupidly cheap PC games on Steam/Greenmangaming I wouldn't bother buying PC games

    Hmmm.....I remember the days when we were nearly all console folk apart from Korvaz. How times change eh?

    I'm tempted not to renew my live sub tbh.

    I can do that with my PC, plus I have I don't know how many mods at my dispoosal if I want them.

    PC gaming, it's the way to go.  Anyone who doesn't blieve just go give Gaikai a try.  Deadpsace 2 on a web browser?  You better believe it.

    Yeah........think I'll stay as I am.  Don't think I will renew my live sub for the moment.  If a MP game comes out that I get into I can always re-subscribe (unless some MS phone jockey makes me an offer I can't refuse!).

    I am looking forward to Skullgirls for some reason......I must be hankering for some good old 16 bit era gaming.  Sure there is something on Steam I can get involved with (not sure about decent beat em ups though...).
