PS4 and New Xbox
  • It has been said that these two new consoles will be getting an official showing at the next E3 in June of this year.
Sony will obviously want a better release start compared to the PS3 and Microsoft aren't ones to sit back so it seems
    likelythat this will be happening.

Also the Wii-U should be getting an official release date/price etc at the E3 convention later this year.
  • I'm seriously wondering whether I can be arsed with the next gen of consoles.  Definitely not at launch anyway if current trends are anything to go by.

Saying that, when I get into all the hype I may eat my own words.
  • You'll buy into it - gamers are suckers for a launch day :-)

Backwards compatibility to 360 would be good, there are loads of top games yet to play!
  • I would be pretty miffed it it wasn't backwards compatible.
  • It's going to be interesting. What format they are going to use etc.

The Wii U looks like it's dead in the water already.
  • Honestly the WiiU really wasn't what I was expecting - its like the Virtual Boy or something when they try just a bit too hard

I'm in no rush to get a PS4, quite happy enough to stick with the PS3 for a few more years as long as they keep releasing games for it (slightly worrying if they ditch it)
  • There's every chance I'll skip the next gen.  PCs are the way to go, and with Gaikai especially.
  • "Honestly the WiiU really wasn't what I was expecting - its like the Virtual Boy or something when they try just a bit too hard"

I'm not sure what you mean by that. It's basically an 360/PS3 with a screen on the controller. It's a much more conservative aproach than the Wii was.

I don't think we'll see any new MS/Sony hardware at E3. There might be some early target renders, but that's it. 2013 before we see anything concrete.
  • Basically what I mean is is that the WiiU is a concept gone wrong & trying to do too many things at the same time
  • Everything I've seen of the wiiu just remiss me of those gaming related things that never tool off like the virtual boy, or my all time favourite, the konix multi-system, which I actually saw back in the very early 90s (or late 80s) at a games show, unfortunately only showing llamasoft mutant camels game....

    Such naive hope for it...
  • I don't see the similarity. It's just a console with an extra screen on the controller. Aside from whatever clever things Nintendo does with it, it's pretty boring and ordinary.
