    Studio of the year: Bethesda - Winner

    Xbox GOTY: Batman: Arkham City - Winner

    PS3 GOTY: Uncharted 3 - Winner

    Wii GOTY: Zelda: Skyward sword - Winner

    PC GOTY: Portal 2 - Winner

    Handheld GOTY: Super Mario 3D Land - Winner

    Best Shooter: Modern Warfare 3 - Winner

    Best Action: Batman: Arkham City - Winner

    Best RPG: Skyrim - Winner

    Best Multi-player: Portal 2 - Winner

    Indeed, apart from winning best RPG also it was not nominated in a lot of categories, atleast not more than Batman from what I could see, so it was an interesting choice for GOTY. I was not surprised by it winning GOTY but only surprised that it wasn't a platform winner as well.

    Modern Warfare 3 best Shooter?

    Madness...even Edge succumbed to the shiny gloss of CoD:MW3 over BF3.  From what I can see MW3 has barely any real innovation over its last iteration.

    Each to their own I guess.

    There was no surprise that Modern Warfare was going to take Best Shooter, I am just happy it wasn't in the overall GOTY.

    A bookie wouldn't have offered odds on that selection. Very predictable list, was 2011 so bland?

    Woah, woah, woah - bland?  BF3 and Skyrim in the same year?  I would have never got a girlfriend if these game out in the same yeah when I younger.  I think we're being spoiled if anything.
