Do you create female characters in games?

    So, nowadays there's quite a few videogames that let you play the lead role as a girl character - even make your own girl character.

    My question to you is; as a guy, do you ever play as a female character when given the choice?
    Girls, likewise, do you prefer to play as a guy or a girl in games?

    I always make guy characters first, however I will play a female character if required for achievements that are required to be done by such. I also will make some in MMOs but usually after my main male character.

    My character in Saints Row: The Third is a big red demon with a female voice if that counts.

    Depends on the game, I made a female character in Demon's Souls because all the males looked hideous yet I didn't realise there'd be male-only types or armour which really pisses me off because good armour is hard to find

    For The Sims I normally make females so she can be a lesbian :P

    I do both.  First play through of Mass effect was a woman.  Basically, I wanted to make a sexy looking lass with a sultry cheekbone scar.  Worked pretty well.  That was until I felt a deep sense of self loathing for lusting after a set of polygons.  I started again and made a man - this went wrong also as I accidently gave him a comedically long nose (I forgot to check his face in profile).

    Consequently, in Mass Effect 2 I made a male as close to my own appearance so I could perv on myself.

    With Mass Effect I always went with the default since it was the most highly detailed model & for the cinematic experience

    In Skyrim I've made a Sean beanesque guy with different eye colours. I was tempted to play through as some kind of red headed barbarian.

    I always do male, and if I can make them look like me too.  Very avataristic, and possiblya  reason I felt no connection whatsoever wit whatsisface in GTA San Andreas.  That and he was an unlikeable dick.

    I made a FemShep in Mass Effect. I mean, if I'm going to be staring at my character's arse for the next thirty hours, it might as well be a nice female arse.

    I'll probably opt for a female in Skyrim too. Not sure yet.
