The Australian Carbon Tax
  • It's not often I applaud a politician. Hell, it's a good day when I
don't wake up and promise to spit blood if one of them talks any sens
ein public that day. But yesterday I was proud of our prime minister.

For thos who don't know, yesterday a proposed price on carbon for the
topp 500 biggest poluting companies in Australia was passed:

Will it make a difference? Not in itself, no. There's only 22.5million
people in Australia, but we are the biggest poluters per capita in the
planet, and with this law passed, as the article above states, it shows
it can be done. I've been repulsed by the tactics and how los the
opposition stooped to try and scare enough people into bullying their
MPs into votng against this law, and the amoutn of big business spent on
advertising and, pretty much, lieing about its effects.

    For once, sanity prevailed.
  • As bad as that picture looks...those towers are releasing steam not dodgy chemicals.  All the bad stuff is probably inside.
