Mx vs ATV Reflex

Rainbow Studios are promising a revolutionary physics engine, the all-new Rhythm Racing 2.0, which excels in real-time terrain deformation. At Gamestyle we enjoy these impressively named technical feats however this will serve a real purpose during proceedings. Off the road racing in the past has been a static affair as seen in Motorstorm, each time around a course the only variable was your opponents. With the introduction of this technology youll have to be wary of ruts and other pitfalls forming, so it may pay to go off the racing line. The other highlighted aspect of Mx vs ATV Reflex concerns the control method. Previously the rider and vehicle are a united front, but in Reflex you have more control over the positioning and leverage of the rider, thanks to the dual controls. This in turn can affect your handling, improving manoeuvrability and also providing the opportunity for stunts. The left stick will control the vehicle, while the right stick handling the driver positioning and stunts. The stunt system has been revamped, Rainbow is promising a more fluid affair, that does not rely in button bashing and the judging is far more realistic.Visually its hard not to be impressed by what weve seen on the game so far. The level of detail is certainly worthy of the high definition formats. The tracks provide all types of terrain from sand to snow, with plenty of chances for big jumps and stunts. Customisation will play a part in proceedings, as victories will bring the chance to upgrade your equipment. Tinkering with your ride can bring benefits, and with Reflex including trucks, buggies, bikes and all terrain vehicles, theres plenty to keep you occupied. The game will also include the option to jump online and take on up to twelve rivals across the PlayStation Network. Straightforward races are promised, but also expect to see some novel mini-games to break up the action and introduce some variety. Youll be in control as you can link together events of your own choosing, ensuring the action and fun keeps on coming. With rallying titles failing to deliver much nowadays, it looks like Gamestyle will have to rely on Reflex for our off the road fix when it hits the stores later this year.
