The original Tomb Raider was a dazzling release, but subsequent versions failed to emulate the originals panache. Angel of Darkness promised to be the most radical departure from the series to date, but could this detour revitalise a flagging franchise? The answer is one that arguably fans and critics will have already asked and (many more) will have prejudged.
