First Fable 2 Details
11.07.2005 11:23 | Dusty | Xbox 360

CVG claims to have the first details about Fable 2 on Xbox 360. Though it’s not much, it is enough to get us excited thinking about what Peter Molyneux and his team can achieve on the 360.

[ a source has revealed to CVG that he interviewed Peter Molyneux recently and the Lionhead genius revealed not only that he's really enjoying making Fable 2 for Xbox 360, but also spilled a few tasty gameplay morsels.

Apparently Fable 2 will see you start out as a young boy again but in a different area from the original Oakvale, only this time you'll have man's best friend for company in the form of a young puppy who accompanies you throughout the tale.

Once again, how you act and interact with the Fable universe will change the appearance of your character, but now your dog will change too. Be good and you'll have a loving fluffy poodle for company, but play the bad boy and you'll be taking a snarling evil hound from hell for walkies!

And apparently that's about it for Fable 2, although Peter Molyneux apparently also did reveal that the brothels or bawdy houses, which made a recent appearance in Fable: The Lost Chapters, will also be a major feature.

I really enjoyed Fable. The fairytale-esque narrative and setting really worked for me, as did the English slant it was given.

I enjoyed it too. I hope this one steers clear of the hypemill.

It's a Molyneux game Rich. That's like saying the next time you watch Titanic it misses the iceberg.

Aye, Fable was the Mutt's nutts.

I few more open settings and a deeper weapon upgrade system to the original game would do me fine.

I still need to play the first one (and luckily the Lost Chapters is out now). So... after Fahrenheit, Paper Mario, Half-Life 2 and God of War, I might get around to playing Fable.

What sort of "revolutionary" features that don't make it into the game do you think Mollynuts will bang on about this time? Realtime hair strand growth?

Yeah I still need to play this. Is the Lost Chapters a stand alone thing or can you get a bundle with both in?

The Lost Chapters is the extended version of the full game. It's budget price too, which is great!

10/10 from Eurogamer.

I never did get around to playing the first one. From the sounds of it, this renders it unnecessary.

Sorry, but Dead Space is out on the same day so that'll be my first purchase. I might just wait and have Fable 2 as a Christmas present.

As much as I fancy playing Dead Space, I might have to make it a preowned purchase

I was surprised by Dead Space..thought it would be mind-numbing FEAR/Aliens/Doom clone.  But Fable II has grabbed me more.  I am considering pre-ordering...but I haven't even finished MGS IV (as stated many time elsewhere!)
Even with my eyes open; I still can't see a thing....

Just mentioning in passing.

Anyhoo, the whole Dog part of the games a great idea, eh  - leading you off the beaten track. Coop patch is due launch day too, which will rock
