3D is just a gimmick.

I dont think it will be on this one. I know what you mean, most movies  dont use it to full potential, but from the stuff Ive read over the years about this movie, I do think its going to be something special.

The industry is using this film to force us into higher prices and 3D in general, not because of its added entertainment value but to stop piracy.

Most directors seem ready to do 3D but have yet to master basic storytelling techniques of even the 2D medium.

Can't stand watching stuff in 3D personally, I'd rather view it normally

The backlash has been fierce for this. Maybe Cameron will go diving again.

I've not seen/read much at all about Avatar besides the first trailer that was released. Until that point I assumed it was a film based on the Nickelodeon cartoon and wondered why everyone was getting so excited about it.

I do think I will make the effort to see it in 3D at the cinema but given the time of year it will be a financial consideration as to whether IMAX or not.

Where is the 2nd trailer? Seems like there's only going to be one trailer right up until release date, not long now, only a week left! I'm going to wait a bit though, got a girl visiting me in a couple of weeks and we'll most likely want to go to the cinemas :) Sherlock Holmes will be released before the end of the year too, sweet

Ha, brilliant work there with Team America. Also that new trailer looks more promising than the original, is that the guy from Terminator 4?

My resolution for 2010 is boycotting 3D films. This and Toy Story 2 3D are just gonna have to exist without my support.

I'll see it only in 2D or on rental. If its good then it can remain so without the gimmick of 3D.
