*bump*

Bought the Watchmen Ultimate Cut mammoth boxset for my brother's xmas present, so damn tempted to tear it open!

For myself lately I bought:

- Star Wars: Clone Wars Season 1 (its way better than the CG Clone Wars movie, trust me!)
- Fight Club (the one with the new remastered PQ & AQ)
- Up (4 disc set)
- The Warriors
- Star Trek (2009)
- South Park Season 12 (more detail than you'd think)
- Transformers 2 IMAX edition
- Band of Brothers
- Bourne Trilogy

you talking about the 2008 CGI series I guess...
I still prefer the 2003 traditional cartoon clone wars series. c'est awesome

great list. I didn't know The Warriors was out on BR. might have to get that. I love the movie and the ps2/psp game is epic; the only game that has remained on my psp mem stick.

@ SurfEd
The Warriors has 2 versions on Amazon.com yet there's actually no difference at all besides the price! Unfortunately there's still no option to watch the original cut, not even in a deleted scenes thing. The video transfer is great however, most of the time its well detailed with only a couple of soft appearances for long shots which are more likely source material issues. And yup I was talking about the 2008 CG series, George Lucas apparently didn't like the original series and has pretty much cut off any further marketing on that

@tubaros
Earlier this week I found out that there's already 8 episodes of Season 2 out! I only got into the show a couple of weeks ago when I found some tv rips with the giant Cartoon Network logos on it. Shame they decided to use a theatrical ratio for the blurays, it never was in the movies, its not exactly being 'filmed', why does it need to be in theatrical? I hate black borders! :( Anyway Season 2 is even more awesome, especially episode 5 which left me practically drooling

Pirates of the Caribbean & Xmen trilogy boxsets - AU$95 incl p&h from Amazon.co.uk ($37+$44 I think)

Good price considering australia's charging $120 here just for the Xmen trilogy. Didn't bother with the 4th movie since that's even more shit than the 3rd one :P  Wanted to get the USA versions but it would've cost me an extra $20. There's not too much difference aside from the packaging which I prefer, but Xmen is region A locked which might annoy me at some point down the track if my PS3 dies

After a year of PS3 ownership I have just made my first ever Blu-ray purchase in the form of the Watchmen Ultimate Cut.

Now I just have to wait for it to arrive.

For Christmas I got The Rock on blu-ray. May not look anything special but my god that's an awesome movie.

"I'll Try my best!
"Your best? Losers always whine about their best, winners go home and fuck the prom queen"

"Mason, are you alright?"
"Yes, perfectly alright you fucking idiot!"

Amazingly quotable film.

Benjimen Button
Eagle Eye
Ingloriuos Basterds (which I thought was one of Tarantinos better films, maybe I had left it long enough for any hugh expectations to go away....)

Top Gear Polar Special, for £6 from Amazon.co.uk

Bought some other stuff too but they were DVDs. Good price imo, would've easily spent 3 times that much buying it locally - I've already got it on DVD but that was in a 3 disc case so I don't have the original packaging and it would be nice to see that extra detail

I'm waiting for Boogie Nights later this month, any film from Paul Thomas Anderson is worth waiting for. Hopefully plenty of extras on that and Punch Drunk Love.

It arrive today. Now I just have to find the time to watch it. I'd want to get through it all in one sitting, rather than watching it in chunks.

In all the time the PS3 has been out I have only ever watched a Blu-ray once and that wasn't on a HD display. I'm looking forward to seeing how good the picture quality really is.

It's not a blu ray but it is related.  I just ordered this award winner:

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/10361072/Sony-BDP-S360-Blu-ray-Disc-Player/Product.html

The PS3 will be relocated to my games room and this will live in the lounge under this:

Holy fudge that's cheap! Fantastic price on a good product. I'm waiting for a player to come with decent bookmarking (unlike the BDP-1500) and also divx playback & maybe region free bluray

Also, Fraiser sucks! :P
