There's pizza in the fridge...

What's the DLC?

Had a look in the fridge but it only let me drink the orange juice and now I can't even interact with it. I got the kid some chips but that's pretty much it

DLC is a bonus episode, a PS3 theme which is worth $3 and the soundtrack

You need to get what the son has asked for. If you offer him a snack and he says yes then you can give him chips (or I believe there was something else in the cupboard with them) but when you ask him about dinner you have to provide something a bit more substantial.

You do know the image you've used for the review on the front page is from the very, very, VERY old prototype don't you? That scene isn't in the game at all.

Yes, why use the same images you can see plastered elsewhere? If anything it asks you to explore a little further.

You could use a device to make your own screenshots ;) Not sure how exactly they do it though - unless its a pc game

When I played this game this afternoon for the first time my impression was "pretty average" as I played through the father role trying to get used to where things were & what I could interact with. Then after the P.I. guy I decided to go back & replay from the beginning again - thinking that I could've done things better since I think Shaun ended up going to bed at 11pm instead of 8pm because I spent so much time mucking around. On the 2nd playthrough I did an evil parent thing where I was just constantly looking at the clock waiting until it turned exactly 8pm before forcing him to go to sleep, lol

It paid off because I unlocked another 2 trophies and got to see some nice touches that I totally missed like watching a home video of the kids. I was tempted to do some mean things, I wanted to drop the groceries to see what would happen & I wanted to bang every single plate on the table so the wife would complain. Its a bit like playing The Sims, you're given choices to do either evil or nice stuff

So this game's starting to grow on me and I'd like to play more tonight but I figured I would control my own sim & force myself to go to sleep too before it hits 3am :P

I noticed that when I thought there was a "The Ring" styled moment, like the one in Fahrenheit where you turned the tv off but it comes back on during the middle of the night. Instead, the sound was on but the picture was off, was a bit spooky.

Also yeah the sound tends to clip at the start of a new chapter & when Ethan was with his wife, people around her were walking straight through her ruining the realism

In the police station? I saw that too. I can't believe it wasn't picked up on in testing.

Yeah, it was the police station. I thought it was a once off but then it just happened way too many times, wouldn't think it'd happen in a cutscene

It was the fact it was during a scripted scene that it stood out so much to me too.

Well I finished the game  :D

Finished with all 4 characters alive. Good game, there doesn't seem much point in replaying it since there's not many surprises left from alternative scenarios but I think I'll hold onto my copy anyway

Tried out the Taxidermist DLC I got free with my CE copy, well, that was pretty disappointing. For those who don't know what it is, its that tech demo that was shown in a french gaming show where Madison enters a big empty house & goes looking around for clues

It all ends in pretty much 5min, you look around till you find something, then try to sneak out once the owner gets back. I did 1 of 7 scenarios yet unless I actually get caught I doubt there's a huge difference. Glad I didn't have to buy it separately because its really not worth the money & there's no bonus trophies to be had either

Also trying to unlock as many trophies as I can, there's quite a few but I'm getting there, 65% completed. I should checkout the bonus stuff too (concept artwork, interviews) - completely forgot about it

Really? It went away for me, only seemed to apply during the early chapters. Have you got the 230mb patch?

Yeah.  I have so much work on at the minute that I haven't got much time for any gaming tbh.

just completed it. got the happy but one ending. very impressed with it. aside from the bugs. I had 2 crashes and there were a couple of times where I felt something had gone wrong. also a couple of sound errors. I think an 8/10 review is about right. but it is still a must play. especially as the story is so strong.
If you don't feel like paying £40, rent it or borrow it soonish before someone lets slip any of the plot.

For those who didn't pre-order, the Taxidermist episode will be available to download on 1st April.

With that in mind, the £3.19 they're charging for it seems a bit steep.

And a patch is incoming too, to fix "the problems that a small percentage of players have been reporting over the last few weeks".

Finished it last night..stayed up til 3am to see it through.   I could feel the end was near so had to plough on much like I do when I am nearing the end of a book.  I really enjoyed playing it, but even if the potential endings could be different I won't play through again.  Either way you play it you still know who the killer is now.

I had a thought though, how amazing would it be if the killer's identity changed everytime you play it?  That way replaying would be a lot more suspenseful.

I actually thought that was going to be the case with the multiple endings.

I know what you mean about it being like coming to the end of a book. I was the same.

There are some unfortunate glitches though.  I had a really weird near the end when it shows Jayden working in AVI.  The bit with the tanks....his face morphed into some bizarre apperence making him look like one of the aliens from Mars Attacks!
