I cant imagine how good this is gonna look in Imax...

I know. This will be my first Imax experience too. I haven't been this excited about going to the cinema since I don't know when.

Looking forward to the director's cut even though I haven't seen it yet :P When you hear they're going to add 40min you know its going to be on the same scale as LOTR extended. I'll probably watch this sometime next week when the crowd's cooled down

Heard on another forum that Snyder basically replicated everything from start to finish but skipped some scenes to save for the director's cut. This is slightly disappointing since I just watched the motion comic so any effects like how the characters would move, I already know and Snyder's also gone a bit too crazy with the amount of slo-mo scenes, once again for that comic book feel I suppose

I'll still watch it but its really a shame that there's hardly anything tweaked since it needs to be tweaked to be turned into a movie

Im looking forward to it, despite any reviews - certain things will have to be different on the screen, and I loko forward to the difference, as opposed to lambasting Snyder for making changes. We'll see.

In other news, I got the game off XBLA last night, and was quite surprised - I quite enjoyed it - graphics are pretty good, characters are well animated, and the cutscenes are really well done, using the comics imagery. Cool. Not sure about 1600 points though...

I am purposefully avoiding reading any reviews until I see it.  However - I did happen to glance a 4 star result in Empire though.

So, went to see this last night, and loved it. The framing of the scenes, the attention to detail, the special effects, all excellent. And the change to end is, on reflection this morning, not a bad thing , as it turns USAs dependence on Dr Manhattan back against them. Rorshach was done justice by the guy who played him - was surprised at how much violence theyd chucked in there too :-)

Heres a screenie of the Tales of the Black Freighter cartoon that's been created alongside the movie. Think its good its a cartoon, as it is a  comic the guys reading after all.

I saw Tales of the Black Freighter yesterday (didn't bother with 'Under the hood' since it reminded me of 60minutes). The cartoon was alright, there were a few scenes where I wish I wasn't eating at the same time. Not really worth buying though (only 21min long excluding the other stuff) compared to the Watchmen Motion Comic - would be nice if there was a seamless option to switch to the kid's comic book only

:alien: i can understand why people say the graphic novels better than the film.  but what i can't understand is why people say the film was crap.  it's a fine peice of cinema.  in fact it's my second favourite film.

Right the US 2 disc blu ray version has been confirmed as Region Free.

The reason to import is that they have the directors cut (24 mins longer) whereas Europe is just receiving the normal theatrical cut. A pretty bad decision from the studio.

Despite all the great extras on the US edition it might be worth holding off later this year as they'll be receiving the 'ultimate edition' which is even longer! Nothing yet on whether we'll get that over here, hopefully region free again which I'm sure it will be.
