Asking a Dutchie to buy something he shouldn't have to buy in the first place? You should know we always think twice about spending money!
But it would solve your problem completely!
Do you enjoy complaining about not being able to play certain FPSs more than you'd enjoy actually playing them?

Forum whip-round, anyone?

My mate is left handed so is in a similar position as you Rich, as Ive mentioned before. Hes got a joypad where the sticks have internally been swapped so its all fine, and southpaw is always default and available in every game. He was well chuffed when he got it, and yuou would be too. Id chip in, if only for

A ) Rich to be able to play all games available, like us non-cack-handers
B ) Him to stop lamenting the lack of southpaw

Heres somewhere that mods or sells them.

Being left handed has nothing to do with it. I'm a lefty but I don't play games like a spastic. j/k. ;) Strangely I even played Turok Dinosaur Hunter and I never had trouble converting to the default control scheme. I was only 11 mind.

And can I just say that the EA Sports servers are perfect, so it's not all bad at EA.

Edit- sorry adam I clicked the wrong button. I haven't changed your post  :sleepy:

Consolification, unfortunately.
No. EA-fication, unfortunately.

Other games even allow for 16-player co-op games with open comms and no lag (on my host), but EA decided to use their own retarded system that somewhat dodges the whole XBL principle. EA are stupid c*nts and that's that.

I take it you never played Battlefield 2 (Modern combat doesn't count :P ) or 2142, so i will forgive you for that much. The Squad, in those games, was king. Sure, you had a time, but your squad was more important. It divided you up into groups that you could manage easily, on the PC, including creating squads of your own, removing undesirables and have a little private chat. It also made it easier for the commander to issue orders to small groups of soldiers, as well as split squads if they weren't cooperating. Both the squad and the commander were rewarded for their actions with additional points and a mobile respawn system. It worked.

However, the squad system has been consolified, the position of commander seems to have been removed and ammo crates, artillery and the sniper's motion sensor have been added instead. Not quite the same, really. Also, the squad system is temperamental at best. You get additional points for assisting your squad with repairs and health, as well as kill assists, but there's no real reason to have it. sure, it can islate small groups from the other riff raff, because beyond my friends, i don't really want to hear 13 year old boys on servers calling me a burning stick for taking a tank he wanted but was only using it for repair exploits/XP farming. I make a squad with a small group of friends, i go out, and we try our best. It works, and i don't have to suffer the usual amount of stupidity exposed to in ranked matches.

As for the hosting, they've has it the same in every other title for the battlefield series besides 1/1.5 . Ranked servers are hosted on their own hardware so they can Root out cheaters easily. It's a dumb system, but it stopped people farming on knife only servers, etc etc.

So, partly EA, part consolification.

I have never played the PC games and I never will. You can mute the small boys. I dont dispute that the lobby system is effective on the PC, I can't say either way, but it doesn't work on a console. I want to play in a team of 12 with friends. I should not be denied that option.

Anothing thing thats seems odd about this whole talking to people thing is that Battlefield: modern combat on 360 allowed you to talk to everyone on your team and that was 16 vs 16.

Must admit I have had very little trouble with EA servers. The only thing I have against them is the fact they get turned off for older games.

Single player is good. Some gold is hard to find. Pretty fun since it's generally not the focus in a battlefield game. Online just has the usual flaws of poor userbase who don't understand the idea of team objectives and play like it is team deathmatch.

Again, I AM RIGHT-HANDED!

I'll bookmark that link and order one when there's a game I really REALLY want that doesn't use SP.

By the way...next time you guys say "Oh come on Rich, one more game" on Live, when it's already past my bedtime, I'm off straight away. I overslept this morning thanks to you slags.

Rich im not saying its about left or right handedness, all im saying is my mate is left handed and because of that (not the case for everyone, i know) he needed to get a flipped joypad - hes always played the other way round from way back when we played Halo1 (which catered for him, as youll know). So im just saying he got one, it works, and it does what youre after.

The single player is tedious. The levels are fairly large, but there are vast tracts of nothing to do-ness. The levels have the appearance of being free-roaming but in fact you're shoved down a fairly linear path. The enemies can always see you/know where you are so whilst you might think there are three or four ways to take out a base, in fact whichever way you do it. Weapon damage is inconsistent. How does the grenade launcher take out half a house, but only make person size crack in a wall? Everything takes too long. The animations for swinging your knife, reloading etc all take too long.

The graphics are good though.

Well, i was right to be excited. This blows Modern Warfare right out of the water, in multiplayer. Balanced classes, no LOLPERKS, and vehicles. Sweet, sweet vehicles.

Initial round was as a medic (machine gun in hand, obviously), and proceeded to jog on forwards, with a sniper at my side.. Who promptly took a brief dirt nap, brought back by the trusty shock paddles. Oddly enough, you can see everyone else's health bar, but not your own. Bugger knows why, but hey, the bloody edge of screen is the vogue for the FPS genre as of late.

Anyway! Sniper alivened, i step on forward, and join the fray, gunning down a bewildered spec ops, in my quest to heal my team mates and generally be a savior of all. Some friendly armour rolls past, if not unfortunately falling victim to an RPG. We use the charred corpse as brief cover, pushing the attackers back. They're running out of tickets, so we press on. I drop a few healthkits, and leave the rest to it. Seeing quite a few are falling to enemy fire, i do the honourable thing and grab a quad, making a swifyt exit.

But yeah. Get this. Now.

Just played the demo.  It could be better than MW2...will have to see if the novelty wears off.  It is nice to have an objective to work towards.  Search and Destroy on MW1 and 2 never really grabbed me.  This was real good fun.

Also, I agree with Korvaz....medics are the glue that hold a team together.

Is this game going to have a single player campaign or is it online only?

Actually found a competent squad, and proceeded to get 7000 points in a single round. Healed, revives, assists, dominations.. You name it. Valdez was well and trully russian owned by that point.

i think i may have a new favourite FPS. But it took 3 years to beat TF2.
