Got my Coraline & Rocky 1-6 boxset today. Had a flick through Rocky 1 and I swear it looks & sounds just like a DVD Out of focused ppl, audio wavers quite often, crowds sound like they're in mono. There's a real lack of atmosphere. But its probably going to be the best release MGM will ever do since they're broke & can't afford to remaster. If I was Stallone I'd be paying the millions of dollars to get it in pristine condition

Also once again there's no piece of paper inside telling you what each movies is about, its just 6 discs inside a case (no slim cases which I like because at least then its more interesting to look at too). They could at least put Rocky's opponent on each disc so it'd be much easier to tell them apart. I'm a guy who hasn't seen these movies for about 15 years so I don't know who's in what

I'm considering buying Patlbaor 2 on bluray, as ridiculous as it sounds as you can only get it from Japan & it costs US$110! But there's a high chance that it won't be released locally because of poor sales from the remastered DVD version People are so stupid! Biggest pile of crap, everyone buys it, real gems that come once a century and everyone skips past it

Got my GITS blurays today and I checked out the original vs the 2.0 version, just having a flick between it. Unfortunately they've used a DVD rip for the original to put on the bluray, I don't think its the remastered DVD version either because the colours look off & it was a bit messy (some damage print) + a lot of interlace & framerate issues

The PQ on the 2.0 version really is quite a staggering difference, especially because of all that additional detail - should be a treat to watch on my 46" 1080p LCD! Even if I do despise the CG

Haha, I actually did capture it in readable form on the original but because it was a DVD transfer it was stuck inbetween 2 frames because of the awful frame rate

Not my copy, just posting what it looks like I'm disappointed that each disc doesn't have its own case considering the way they've done it. It should be a 2 disc holder case, x3 and perhaps have a less generic poster cover to make it more fresh

The first movie seems to be the worst of the bunch with what looks like an upscaled DVD Seems to be that all of these blurays weren't properly remastered, the RotK looks better (yet only because its more recent) its still not the 5 star quality I was expecting & some shots look a bit noisy.

Colour me disappointed for New Line doing such a crappy job, however it may be something to do with what the person did to screencap it & how he saved the files. Guess I'll wait for a professional review before I order it

Am I right in thinking this doesn't include the extended scenes?  Empire magazine have reported a few issues back that they will be releasing ANOTHER collection when Hobbit comes out.  TBH, I think I will wait until the Hobbit has been released on bluray with its own inevitable extended edition before buying this again.

Thinking about getting The Killers Live at Albert Hall bluray (watched a bluray rip & it was much more enjoyable than I thought it'd be). So now I've got concert fever & thinking about getting the latest U2 bluray which also looks awesome. I have absolutely no concert dvds/blurays so thats why I'm generally excited

I recently purchased 'Life', David Attenborough's new series which is meant to be as good as Planet Earth. Fingers crossed! Stay away from the americanised Oprah Winfrey narration version though! Dunno wtf they were thinking when they did that, AND they cut out 100min of footage

Annoyingly there's actually been a few people purchasing it unaware that there's 2 different versions & probably think it has dual audio. Poor consumers PLUS the video is in 1080i for the Oprah version (since its the version that was shown on USA tv)

Today, almost twenty-five years later, Universal Studios Home Entertainment has officially announced the Blu-ray release of Back to the Future: 25th Anniversary Trilogy for October 26, confirming early information from European retailers (see blu-ray.com, June 18). I think Back to the Future is the only movie I've seen nearly 100 times Still wondering if I should get the bluray, I had the original DVD boxset, sold that & then I sometimes tune in when its on tv. It does seem to be one of the few movies I'm willing to watch again so I'll probably give in...

I'm currently watching The Universe Season 1 (I got the 3 season boxsets) and I'm glad its actually interesting yet educational at the same time (I'm actually learning stuff!). They do use the word "probably" a bit too much but when you consider they're trying to calculate how long the sun has been around for its understandable

Man, I wish we had documentaries like these for school, then I might've done better in science

I have the boxset for the future films.  Don't think I would be bothered about a HD version.  The effects look very dated as it is...Still....they are one of the best film trilogies ever.
