This isn't looking bad at all! Video after the click.A bit Tomb Raider merged with GoW's cover system. Animation is a bit stiff in places and the level design and gameplay's a bit scripted, but this looks rather good overall. A bit of an interactive Indiana Jones movie. Not sure if this'll win awards, mind.

The American demo's out, but Sony has blocked it for people from the EU and Japan who are on false US accounts.
Handy, Sony. Way to promote a game that actually looks interesting.

They fixed the bug in the US version that caused it to search for a BD-ROM in the drive about two weeks ago (two days after it went up IIRC), so the PAL land demo is a bit pointless. It's not bad, I'm not finding the combat especially inspiring though.

yeah its a bit repetative. Some nice detail on the scenary but its all a bit linear, with using cover for combat. Nice animation but on the strength of this demo I'm not too impressed.

Its much better in motion, some nice scenary and plant movement, but that's not a reason to buy a game.

Looks like a shot from a PC game of about three years ago tbh!
It looks a bit nicer than Far Cry.

Can't say I'm terribly impressed. The graphics are just mindblowing - even more so than those of Devil May Cry 4. As far as gameplay goes, though, I've yet to do anything I haven't done many times before in Prince of Persia, albeit with a few guns added. The shooting's rather rubbish because it's hard to aim without going into aim mode (unless you opt for the spray-&-pray approach with the AK-47), and moving the x-hairs in aim mode is reeeaaalllly sloooooow. Bah. I keep getting deaded.
It's a bit of a Heavenly Sword: ace eye candy, but it's a by-the-numbers standard adventure.
I hope Naughty Dog will follow the same path as Insomniac have done; making a 'serious' game for the PS3 before going back to their fun series that was such a success on PS2.

I think the opposite, lovely visuals and great gameplay. It reminds me of Tomb Raider legend but with far superior voice acting. Its funny what you said though....its hard to aim without going into aim mode I pretty much only use aim mode to shoot.

I never really got on with the Tomb Raider series; that might have something to do with it.

I enjoyed Tomb Raider but having played the demo of this I found it pretty average, maybe the full game manages to introduce some new elements. I'm not sure it could really offer much more although it does look pretty.
Maybe fair better as a budget title.

It's my favourite game on the PS3. Almost makes the console worth owning.

Totally. Id gladly play it through again, although Ill probably just wait for the 2nd one now. I just wish there were more games like this, that just "got it". In a world of Lara Crofts, its refreshing to have quite a roguish character to play as. Deffo the best tihng Ive played on the PS3. Wasnt majorly impressed when I first ever saw it at my old job on a massive projector screen, but I did just try 5 mins of it..
