It's probably easier on real guitars.
It isn't, heheheh. It's not even comparable really. This is just hammering buttons, on a 'guitar' that only has 1 snare and 5 frets. If you would do it properly, you should have 6 buttons per fret, along the full length of the guitar controller's neck. And even then it isn't the same, because on a real guitar you'll need to push the snares up for tonnage variations.

If I go for any, it'll probably be GHIII on PS3 simply cos I've already got a guitar for it.
You've already got a guitar for the PS3 version of GH3?

they are a good selection of songs but i am torn between buying guitar hero 2 and rock band
Guitar hero 2?

Anyways, Guitar Hero is extremely fun but it's nothing more than playing air guitar.

Yeah, it's air guitar with noise. Which is to say, brilliant.

I 'acquired' the soundtrack for Rock Band and was surprised by how many of the songs I know and like, compared to a typical Guitar Hero release, which normally serves as rock education. Still, being more familiar with the songs from the offset will certainly help, especially with the singing. What's interesting is that the order of the songs in the game is different depending on which instrument's career you play though. I'm listening out for bits of the songs that I think will be really fun to play on the different instruments. I'm still massively looking forward to the drums; I can't see them being as varied as the guitar parts, as they're more of a rhythmic thing, but it will be excellent to start a game like this again from zero skill and gradually improve.

I don't think I've looked forward to a game this much since I was a teenager. I keep having dreams about it. And daydreams. And silly urges to buy a PS3 and import a copy early. And then I keep checking Amazon to see if there's a UK release date yet. And then more dreams.

Oh, man. It's gonna rock. Right?

UK release date possibly confirmed as...

March 7th. If true, that's not too far away! Just 5 and a bit weeks.

Is it a weekly publication a la " I love Horses"? Where you get something with the first issue for 99p?

Really really interested in this release.

But is there really any chance of this being released in March? I mean, is it common to hear nothing about such a game here then it being released like a month later?

I'm not convinced, however, i'd like to be pleasantly suprised.

Yeah it's out in March. It's been out in the States for almost 2 months now, so it's about time.

It's not definitely confirmed for March. I agree that it's unusual for a game's release to be so close to its announcement, but I guess this is a special case (last minute hardware production estimates, etc.).

2009. April 2009.
That can't be right. It's the financial year, I think. Q1 2009 is April 2008. This April.

I think.

God, I hope. :(
